Dear Dan, Josh, Anne,
And here I was more distracted by the unlit section of the V! (BEP’s ½ time superbowl stage, spelling LO\ E).
I have to react first, though, Dan (even before looking up “souciance”) to the continually evolving design and name of Dosty Productions. Not that I don’t like evolution, but... I wonder, why not strive primarily (or primally?) to make something big of fledgling stories and songs? Kind of like Keillor’s Woebegone dialogue — it is in the accumulation of his anecdotes that the community of Lake Woebegone is produced. Or D’s Onion, for instance, surely once a fledging story, and one that itself connects to the author’s understanding. Even if you never get a BK-sized tome out, the stories within the story are themselves more than plenty. I guess what I’m saying is, yes, aim high, but I’ll be happy if, and as, each of us produces and develops the fledgling stories and songs within us.
I am, of course, ultimately grateful that you are getting us to aim at all. Indeed, I am a little lost as to what the next step should be, never mind the big picture you are encouraging us to take. Anne, you are taking the next step, and I do sincerely believe something bigger can come out of your blog postings. Keep them going! And yes, Dan, this too connects to appreciating all that God gives us. I don’t know about latching on to souiciance, though. That means worrying, right? Please explain.
I did also want to respond to that dumbshit education anecdote, and maybe attach another fledgling anecdote of my own, and I do want to elaborate with Josh about expanding on a story idea he had started recently, but for now I need to get out the door. Next time.
Love to you all,
Jon
