Christmas 2017

We are the weary travelers checking in.
We are the host who makes room where he can.
We are the town as slumber settles in
We are all part of God’s much greater plan.

We are directed by our better dreams.
We are obliged by government decree.
We are sometimes alone, or so it seems.
We are who God is asking us to be.

We are the ones who stay awake at night.
We are the shepherds working in the field.
We are the sages following the light.
We are all witnesses of God revealed

And we are angels called upon to be
The voices in the wilderness.  We sing
From where we are that everyone may see
The light we’ve seen and hear the news we bring

And at the scene of the nativity
We take our places underneath the star.
Joy to the world depends on you and me
And peace on earth begins with who we are.
