As we all need the grace of our Lord Jesus, every day beyond the dominoes that befall and (by happenstance, it seems) exult particular turns of the calendar: blessings to you this Christmas. It's been a 2014 to remember well, and we pray for more interventions of the Holy Spirit to come.
In Prague we're anticipating a Taize communion that will bring in thousands (a dozen, perhaps, to our futons and floors). We're praying for Ukraine--Docyia, our best friend from there, prays in kind. We're praying for North Korea--no multi-media flap can veil what justice demands, especially in light of the myriad South Korean Christians praying in kind. We're praying for sellers of 'loose cigarettes' and their families, black or white, who may or may not be praying in kind. We're praying for Syria, the destination of the Apostle Paul as he was en route to destroy and to reckon with our Divine Savior, who continues to intervene for us, in kind, in groans too deep for words (Romans 8:26). We're praying for West Africa, the nations around 'Liberia', which require enslaving nations to answer better for those enslaved, by ebola or whatever else inevitably comes 'our'--really 'their'--way. We pray rather abstractly in this regard, in kind.
Eager to see all of you in July!
