Minnesota minds

I'm writing a novel now--my first since Turkmenistan, 1995:)

Its topic is not so familiar to me: how internet realities might morph in 60 years or so. But good advice to writers is to 'write what you know', so I'm setting it in Minnesota and titling it Having Run.

There are two related plots in the opening chapters (they're short), so the cast of characters so far are:

Aamiina and her mother Nala, Somali emigrants living in Faribault
Patroller Pam Circe and her dauther, Gwen, also living in Faribault
Seb and Avis Carter, with their children Kay, Tim, Mia, leaving Minneapolis to 'sanctuary' in Fall Lake, near Ely.

My writers' group is offering good feedback, but none of them know much of Minnesota! I'd love more checks and balances:)
