post-solstice

and, oddly, the days are becoming shorter for us northeners. Summer sails into the blue: already Joe is at scout camp, Emma goes tomorrow and Ben this Thursday. I just finished a workshop in Brussels that went well, despite my hobbly right leg (tore a calf muscle in the last basketball game of the school year), and now I'm quite excited to take on a Cambridge U Press contract I feel more qualified to do: write cues and questions around production photos of Hamlet, Othello, R&J and Macbeth. I'll try to do this while kids are at camp, so the end of summer can be free to camp as a family, Baltic states.

Katerina and I may fly to Lvyov, Ukraine, to do some research for the last sections of "Babi Leto, Babi Yar"--I imagine Yakov trying his luck as a street performer playing Sholem Aleikom's Tevye...

Would like to Skype twice tonight, if anyone else is online.

love,
dan and fam
